The self-priming centrifugal wate pump is usually installed above or adjacent to the tank it will be transferring from. After all piping connections have been made, the casing is then filled with enough liquid to cover the impeller, enabling the pump to prime by separating air and fluid within the casing.
The fluid recirculates within the casing creating a vacuum drawing air and fluid from the tank. Air will exit the pump via the outlet due to its working motion with fluid exiting the pump only once the casing is completely filled with liquid. The pump can be controlled manually via wired connections, or automatically via level controls.
Applications
Suitable for use in clean water supply and the liquids that similar to water in physical and chemical properties. Equipped with a rocker sprayer, it can also wash water into the air and spray it into small raindrops. It is a good machine for farms, nurseries, orchards and tea gardens.
principle
The working principle of the self-priming centrifugal water pump is based on the negative pressure (vacuum) effect inside it. When the pump is started, the air inside the pump is pumped out, forming a negative pressure, which in turn draws water below the suction port into the pump under the action of atmospheric pressure and then discharges it from the discharge end. This process does not require additional water diversion, so it is called a self-priming water pump.
Main types
Gas-liquid mixing type: including internal mixing type and external mixing type. The internal mixing type has a longer self-priming time but a higher self-priming height, while the external mixing type has a shorter self-priming time but a lower self-priming height.
Water ring type: short self-priming time, but higher manufacturing cost.
Jet type: high self-priming height, suitable for occasions requiring high self-priming height.
